about

“Alamogordo as a place of the absurd for awareness”
If in the previous album Eerie (released in March 2018) the psychological aspects that lead to the existential crisis in the relationship between man and technology were investigated, especially the detachment from reality, loneliness and dehumanization, in Alamogordo the individual is projected towards the outside, to the strange and sometimes disturbing events taking place in the world (in this case events which occurred precisely in the town of New Mexico), environmental stimuli which should induce in the individual a leap of conscience in order to make choices which will lead to salvation or an ineluctable self-destruction.
In Alamogordo there is therefore the need to no longer be a mass of passive spectators, an act of collective protest and resistance in favor of a coexistence of the human species, in balance on this world and with other species.

“Alamogordo is the beginning of the last carousel ride”
Alamogordo is the process of realizing that the fun could end, a new awakening. Although the message can immediately trigger a feeling of anguish, an infantile regression that one does not want to accept, this must not and cannot be seen in the negative sense, but rather a hope, a new awareness of what we have, of its limit and the need to take a step back to protect it, enjoy it and last but not least preserve ourselves. The idea is that this last lap could be the most authentic and valuable. Deeply believing that that remaining lap, if shared, can give something more, that there is another way of seeing and experiencing things. In order not to disrupt our humanity by detaching ourselves more and more from the environment.

“Alamogordo as a sound dystopia”
The traces present in Alamogordo therefore continue the process of identifying the human being in relation to the continuous progress to which he is subject which, although involving considerable benefits, often does not take into consideration the dark side inherent in the gray area of each individual man, with unpredictable consequences.
Following this concept, the Ropsten lead the listener into an alienating, frenetic, repetitive and emotionally unstable environment offering few points of reference.

"Ropsten in a cold place".
Ropsten are an Italian band active since 2009, based in Cornuda, in the Veneto foothills.
Their debut EP And I Fell Asleep On A Chair, Downstairs In The Corner, initially released as a self-released CDR in 2012 it was later re-released by canadian label Dwyer Records.
In 2014 Ropsten released Fault, an EP of seven songs, available only digitally and in 2018 they released Eerie, their first full disc.
In the meantime the band continues to divide itself between study, work and live activity.
Ropsten's sound, initially similar to the second post rock scene, has evolved over the years.
Continuous research has led them to a very personal sound solution: elements of kraut rock, central european electronics and post rock merge into elegant alt rock.
The modern and classic elements of the mixture make listening to Alamogordo, their new album, thewhose publication is scheduled for April 21st on Shyrec.
